FITNESS SQUARE RUNNERS CLUB (FSRC)
FSRC is a dream club of a running enthusiast, whose love for running would not just be satiated with his own journey and experiences. But rather, he wanted to spread the joy of running across others who had a similar passion in life. With this aim, in 2018, he brought together a few such people, trained them to the best of his capabilities and there they stand, tall and proud as ‘Marathoners’ now.
Over a small period, the members of FSRC have gained a lot of exposure and have been taking up challenging opportunities one after another. From the toughest Ladakh Marathon to the thrilling Devil’s Circuit, they have done it all. Some notable marathons that are taken up almost every year by FSRC runnersinclude world’s toughest and highest altitude Ladakh Marathon, Tata Mumbai Marathon, Delhi Half Marathon, Adani Ahmedabad Marathon, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Half-Marathon, Jaipur Pink City Marathon, AU Marathon etc.
Their experience and exposure now applies to successfully conducting many such running events in the city itself and they are always on track encouraging and motivating the people of Kota to take up the sport. With barefoot running slowly taking a lead in India and abroad, owing to its many advantages, our trainer and director, Mr. Amit Chaturvedi himself practices and advocates to ‘go barefoot’. He believesthat with your feet touching the ground; you remain grounded yourself and tend to learn a lot.
With a group of 30 + runners from Kota, FSRC conducts regular training sessions of the team throughout the year. Apart from the regular training, the running team actively involves in several exciting events that sparks the fun and passion further. Some major activities by FSRC Runners are as under:
It’s an official event of the club that is now being successfully conducted for the past 4 years. It’s an open for all running event, wherein the participants run or walk daily for minimum 2kms continuously for 30 days. Inviting participations from all over the country, the main focus of this challenge is to make running/walking and fitness a habit for all.

As a token of our regards to the country’s 75th Independence Day, the FSRC team had taken up the relay run for a total of 75 Kms on 15th August 2021. While all the team members actively participated by running their share of the distance, our founder, Mr. Amit Chaturvedi took the zeal to another level by running barefoot with them in the scorching heat.
For FSRC, each festival is to be commemorated by a good run. Thus, adding to the charm of Navratri, the team takes up the challenge of running 9 Kms daily for 9 Days. The challenge has now been taken up by the team successfully for the past 4 years.
Diwali festivities calls for a lot of sweets and celebrations. And hence, we balance our calories by what we do best, running. The team runs for 5Kms, 5 days until Diwali and indulges in the celebrations guilt-free.
All the female runners running boldly and beautifully in a saree and all the male runners running their best in traditional Kurtas is surely a mesmerising view on our Traditional KarwaChauth Run. Be it a day of fasting or eating more, the message we pass on through the city is to remain fit always.
Runners across the world are acknowledging the many advantages of going shoeless and embracing the barefoot running lifestyle. This growing subculture draws its roots from the fact that running barefooted makes you feel liberated, connects to the ground better and makes you run more, improves foot biomechanics and reduces the risk of injuries. And we, at FSRC could not agree to it more. To celebrate the barefoot spirit, the FSRC runners run shoeless on occasion of the International Barefoot Day.
Organized on second Sundays every month, these are the type of runs where the runners are asked to give a prediction of their running time in advance and take complete hold of their runs. A predictions run is carried out for a fixed distance for all runners but without any gadgets (watch, phone etc.). They predict their running times in advance and try to complete their distance in the given time. It helps the runners to understand their pace.
A little motivation takes us a long way in any sport. To motivate and encourage the runners and to ensure their regularity and commitment to running, we give away a “Runner of the Month” award every month. The winner of the award is nominated based on several parameters including their punctuality, regularity and commitment to the training schedules.
Running in the outdoors connects one with the surroundings and to nature, and hence we have birthed many nature-lovers among us. For the sake of getting as closer as we can to mother earth, our Founder Mr. Amit Chaturvedi took the initiative to start trekking expeditions in and around the city. After a few successfully organized hikes in the nearby areas, the team also organised a trek to one of the most popular and loved trekking site: The Kedarkantha Summit Trek. At an altitude of 12,500 ft, it is the most beautiful winter trek with snow-capped views and a breath-taking summit. But, unfortunately, due to bad weather conditions the team was not allowed to reach the summit and had to turn their way back from the base camp. Nonetheless, it was a wondrous experience for the trekkers.
For all those who have been wishing to run a mile or a marathon, it’s time that they stop wishing and start doing. Join the club for injury-free running and training sessions thrice a week that are bound to make you a running addict for good.
So come, let’s RUN.
Why?
Because Running feels like FREEDOM, it’s all the more FUN and yes, a FITTER lifestyle comes around as a consequence!
